The Fry Up
One of the hardest things about moving to a new city is no-longer having your trusty eating spots to visit on the regular. I often miss my hidden gems throughout Toronto and NYC that are always delicious and CHEAP, but I am slowly beginning to discover great cheap eats in LDN.
The boy and I were walking along Portobello Road last weekend craving a good ol' English Fry Up and went to an off-street cafe called MIKE's by recommendation. The breakfast was AMAZING and only 5.95! Unlike most, this breakfast was massive and not too greasy. Also, the free coffee we got wasn't a disgusting brew that had been sitting around since 6am, it was a delicious latte. This place is my new breakfast spot and I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
The picture below is from Borough Market. I had been working right next to the market for three days while helping Becca & Beth but never had a chance to go in until after my last day. Unfortunately I am super lame and always forget/am too lazy to take pictures so the one and only that the boy took is the best I've got but definitely does not do the market justice! It is filled with an amazing farmer's market and tons of cool food vendors. There is a vast array of lunch choices for both meat, sweets and veggie lovers for under 5 pounds as well. Nearest tube stop is London Bridge, GO!

Blue & Gold
Dear oh dear! What a crazy few days. They have been amazing actually, but a bit of a fashion overload and now I am completely exhausted! TGIF!!
Here is what's been going on...
I met my amazing friend Becca a year ago at Teen Vogue, where we were both interning. She had moved to NYC from the UK and was just finishing up her term as I began mine but we instantly got along. Now both based in LDN, she is currently assisting the incredible stylist, Beth Fenton. Funnily enough, I was sent to assist on the Teen Vogue 'Sweater Dressing' shoot that Beth was styling last summer. As you can guess I was ecstatic when Becca asked me to help them prep for an iD Magazine shoot that is taking place in Paris over the weekend.
BTW, if anyone is looking for a quick way to discover London, I would suggest doing pick ups for a major stylist... after a couple of days you will know the tube map like the back of your hand and will be able to locate any PR company with a blindfold on. So ya, I've basically been running around like crazy all over London picking up requested items and receiving even more at the office. Setting everything up for Beth's edit was a huge amount of work that took hours, but it was amazing to see each and every piece called in for the shoot. Even more mind-blowing was watching Beth put together each look with combinations and additions that would have never even crossed my mind. I can't give away too much info about the shoot but if you love 90s Versace as much as I do then you will be very pleased!!
The scans above are just a few from Beth's online portfolio.

Crocodile Rock
Ahhh...it has been pissing rain in LDN for the past two weeks. Summer has disappeared completely. Since I wasn't able to fit my rain boots from home into my suitcase, I've been thinking that I should invest in a good pair of Hunter boots sometime soon. Haven't really been able to decide if I should get black or navy, but now I think these crocodile Jimmy Choo for Hunter boots will do just fine! I wannnnnt!!

Salvadore Darling
Oooh wee! A couple months back I posted a video of Martha Sharpe's Salvadore presentation at FAT in Toronto. Well now the recent Ryerson fashion design grad is one of 16 who currently has their collection on display inside Holt Renfrew on Bloor St. Rumor has it that Sharpe will be leaving the fashion world in order to become a doctor and save peoples lives...but I think she would be saving a lot of people with her incredible designs!! Please don't leave us, Canadian fashion needs you!

Living London
As promised, I wasn't lazy this week.
The left picture is from the Tate Modern. It was the only one I was able to sneak in before the security guard started chasing me down. See, I did make it to the Tate Modern! Told ya. Middle pic shows the current windows at Selfridges on Oxford st. Take note Holts, the series of futuristic displays are for a store that is the UK equivalent to The Bay! The right picture shows a memorial/shrine to the late MJ that I spotted on my way to Soho House.
Just so happened to pass by the palace on my way to meet my own prince William. The right pic is a wicked old building along Picadilly.
Finally got a proper look around Notting Hill on the weekend. Mid pic shows the shoe section of the craziest vintage store I have ever stumbled upon in my life! It was...epic? haha Gabbi I know you just love that word! xo

Day 2 Day
English Rose
To all my lovely friends checking in on London Snog, I thought I might give you an update on my LDN life at the moment.
It has been quite nice really, and I have certainly settled into the 'Chiswick Housewife' lifestyle with ease. Dear boyfriend works very very early in the mornings (7am!) until 4 in the afternoon almost every day. So, this leaves me to sleep in, wake up to some coffee and breaky while checking the daily news and later go for a run by the river. By the time I get back in and shower it is usually just after noon so I get ready and have a quick snack for lunch, after this I like to swan around Chiswick until dear boyfriend is done work.
Chiswick is a quaint area that is always bustling but has a relaxed atmosphere. It is also chock-full of charity shops! These shops are sprinkled all over LDN and have a few different names but most are for Cancer charities. Although I'm not really allowed to spend much, I've found some great vintage and designer pieces throughout. Just around the corner from my flat is another store that specializes in second-hand designer clothing and accessories, it's amazing! Literally a hole in the wall... about half the size of Tokyo 7 in NYC but still just as good, and there are two old British ladies running it who are quite funny. I would love for employment to happen soon so I can justify scooping up all the See by Chloe I spotted and pray for some vintage Chanel.
Speaking of employment, I HAVE been searching! As much as I'd love to laze about for the rest of the summer I know it's not possible. But what to wear to my interviews?? I am becoming more and more depressed about how much clothing I had to leave behind and that my current closet size is about less than 1/4 of my TO closet. Working within my limited budget before employment has also left little room for closet expansion *tear* Anyhoo, this week the job search continues and I also plan to venture down to the Tate Modern and Notting Hill. I know, I know I can't believe I still haven't gone either! #1 TO DO for this week is: Do not be lazy!
Who is coming to visit soon?

Summer a la Elle
UK mags have been making it way too hard to pass up their summer issues lately. The amount of free stuff that they all seem to be giving away with each issue is ridiculous! It has really made justifying constant mag purchases all too easy, which isn't the best thing in my current state of unemployment! With two Elle UK mags I've already got an Urban Outfitters bag, Paul & Joe ruffle tank, Bad Gal Benefit mascara and fall runway edit! (Almost) Free things make me so happy.
