Sequins, Stripes & Pilgrims

1. US Harper's Joanna Hill

2. a portion of one of two shrines situated on the catwalk.

3. A few of my fave MK AW11 girls

The highlight of London Fashion Week, for me, was getting to see the Meadham Kirchhoff show. If you picked up the March issue of ELLE UK, you will have seen the fantastic piece my boss wrote on the duo, and if you read my blog on the regular, you will have also seen my awesome MK for Topshop dress that I recently wore to the ELLE Style Awards. So, obviously, big fan ovah heaaa!

As I sat patiently in the third row with my girl Louise, waiting for the show to start, I was delighted to see the lovely Johanna Hill turn up - looking mega glam as ever, even while clambering over a block row in her massive heels to get into a seat. Above is a shot of what she was wearing that day, luckily ELLE UK photog, Phill, caught Jo on the street. I really do love a day time sequin, paired with a good stripe makes it even better.

Back to the show, well, it was amazing. Possibly the quickest fashion show of all time, but definitely one I won't forget. Sequins, stripes and pilgrims, I just love it all!

Now & Then

Back in December, I blogged about two great vintage bags that I picked up in Toronto's fabulous Goodwill on Bloor St. One of the bags, was the above yellow croc satchel which I immediately fell in love with, and purchased for a mere $5. Yesterday, while browsing River Island on Oxford Street, I came across this identical version in the shop, being sold in two different colours at £32.99 each! The red is certainly cute, but I can't help but laugh and pat myself on the back for scoring the original design for so cheap! But for anyone looking for a lovely croc satchel of their own, and not so willing to dig through charity shops to find one, I thought I would share this discovery in case you might want to buy a brand new one for yourself.

Kate Forever

On this day, in this outfit, and at this show (menswear designer, James Small) in fact! I stood one foot away from Kate Moss in the FLESH. She definitely did not disappoint in person, what a beautiful being. Special thanks goes out to Holly for inviting me, what a nice surprise and a great way to end LFW. x

Introducing Thirty8Birds

As we say at ELLE, "it's not what you wear, it's how you wear it" - and those who are truly stylish know that you don't have to be in head-to-toe designer to look damn good. Lucky for us, former ELLE girl, Hayley, has partnered up with friends, Jazz and Alice, and moved to Manchester in order to launch Thirty8Birds - vintage e-find heaven. Cherry picking their way through mounds of second-hand goods, they promise to bring us only the best unique pieces to reflect current trends, "no moth balls, no polyester nightmares." Hallelujah!

Although their Ebay store has yet to launch, you can follow the Thirty8Birds blog by clicking HERE. And please, let's give these girls a round of applause for finally launching a vintage e-store that's well-shot AND well-styled, can't wait to shop!

Looks I Liked From Last Night

Last Night at The ELLE Style Awards

What an amazing night last night was! One I will never forget, that's for sure. Alexa Chung, Courtney Love, Tom Ford, Erdem, Christopher Kane, Boy George & Vivienne Westwood were all in attendance, among so many other amazing guests! Here are some pics of what the main room looked like - all decked out in silver hearts! La Voguette and I were lucky enough to enjoy some delicious food and had an amazing view of the ceremony. I wish the ELLE Style Awards took place weekly!

ELLE Wears The Trends

On Monday the ELLE Beauty Team asked me to model SS11's "Big Hair Trend." To be honest, I forgot about committing to this feature and showed up to work with unwashed, previously straightened hair up in a top knot. I still managed to get it "big" enough for the shoot in the five minutes I had to get it ready - but I think my naturally curly/wavy hair is often bigger and crazier than in this picture on a day-to-day basis (much to my dismay). Anyhoo, click HERE to check out all the trends!x
