The Place To Be Seen

So last night, my family finally celebrated Christmas. Thank god, because I was about to have some sort of mental break down if I had to wait another day to open up my presents. Yes, I am a five year old at heart.

Anyway, to my surprise, I was gifted Scott Schuman's 'The Sartorialist' from my grandpa. Now, you may think that getting your granddaughter, who works in fashion, a book on style wouldn't be that big of a surprise to her, but you don't know my grandpa. Most years, I'm used to receiving presents more along the lines of coin sorters, travel kits and other extremely random things. This year, my brother received a flashlight, my mom got a multi-slicing knife (?) and my dad got a Roots murse. So ya, my book, which underneath the wrapping paper, was kept in perfect condition thanks to the ziplock bag it was incased in, was the biggest surprise of... the decade?? Oh gramps, I love ya! And so thankful for this wonderful gift, thank you thank you thank you!

I took a few snaps of some of my favourite fashion people and shots in the book. First up, Holli Rogers of Net-a-Porter, and Taylor Tomasi of Marie Claire - possibly the two nicest and coolest Texans in fashion. I'm in love with his shot of Mila Jovovich, she looks so delicate and feminine - absolutely perfect. Also in love with Giovanna's outfits and Scott's cuter than cute little daughter, what a star!

Confusion

Who the hell saw this breakup coming!? I sure didn't! I couldn't believe my eyes when I read about Halle Berry's split from beyond gorgeous model boyf, Gabriel Aubry, this morning. Us Magazine is reporting that Halle has dubbed her ex a "loser." Are you guys sad to see these two part ways? Or simply happy that Gabriel is back on the market?? x

Miss Murphy

Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, has a photography website completely dedicated to Brit. She is the subject of every photo, and there are tons amazing shots. I especially like the few I have posted, but they are all worth checking out. I still can't believe she is gone! So sad.

Rose N Roll

Martina of Dragonette stars in 'Boys & Girls' promo vid for Jean Paul Gautier's Rose N Roll perfume with Martin Solveig.

Bring It On

Most people hate Miss Kiki D but I just lah her to death! Perhaps because she stars in most of my fave teen movies, or maybe because she stars in my fave Sophia Coppola films. Either way, I think she is extra cute and I love the outfit she wore at the CFDA awards. In Rodarte avec Rodarte, perfection!

Home is where the heart is

I always picture celebrity houses to be...modern and (sometimes) stylish, but also lacking in personality. Sure, MTV cribs gives a sense of who has the most rooms, or an in-door basketball court or the flashiest gadgets but hardly any give off a homely 'lived' in feeling. Helena Christensen's home was featured in the May issue of Paris Vogue and I absolutely love that it actually looks like a home. Filled with her quirky finds and endless photographs, I appreciate her elegantly 'lived in' household. And how sweet is her little puppy??

Double-You-Tea-Eff

Okay, I've been wondering this for a while now. When did Prince William go from being hunky to hideous!? Today is his 27th bday and if you ask me it looks like he just turned 45! We all know the English aren't known for their great teeth so we will look past the not-so-pearly whites but I can't help but keep noticing his quickly receding hair line in recent pics. Blech! And to think I used to dream of being the next Princes Grace...no thanks!

Edit: Okay, okay, maybe I was being a bit harsh...he is not hideous! But he has been losing hair rather quickly for a just-turned 27yr old don't you think?

Married to the Mogul

Georgina Chapman graces the cover of Tatler's July issue with headline 'Married to the mogul.' The Marchesa designer/stunner is featured in a six-page editorial looking GORGE obviously. Article tells of her fab life of being beautiful, dressing stars in her gowns and her marriage to one of the richest men in the world. Ahhhh the dream life.
