CROWN x Greta Constantine

King West's latest nightlife addition, CROWN bar, marked its arrival with a launch party hosted by TO design-duo darlings, Greta Constantine, last Friday. Miss Hayley Dineen and myself popped by to check it out - we found the vodka flowing, flipbooks in the making and the Greta boys being fabulous. Not bad at all, in fact I didn't even mind getting kicked out of a booth to make room for a VIP guest when I found out it was Mr. R-Patz. Dressed down in jeans, a white tee and a fitted, I'm not sure why I didn't do more to weasel my way back in and make friends. After all, he was only protected by a sheer curtain and one big bouncer that could have easily been chatted up, I clearly need to work on my "fan crazy." Oh well, new goals for next time. xo

FILLER Mag SS11 x London Snog

Tomorrow marks the release of FILLER Magazine's SS11 issue and I am very pleased to announce that London Snog/moi will be their featured blog/blogger of the issue! That's right, you can browse the magazine and keep up to date with my posts from one hot spot - amaze!

I am so excited to be a part of this issue, FILLER is a magazine that I hold very close to my heart. The editor, Jennifer Lee, was managing editor of LUSH magazine while I interned there (my very first internship at a magazine) and is someone I consider a mentor. It is thanks to her guidance and the trust she put in me, and my talent, that I went on to Teen Vogue and ELLE UK.

While FILLER involves a global team of people, it is also a pool full of incredibly talented Torontonians. Many of my friends and colleagues have contributed from the beginning, but it seems that each time I visit the site, I find a new familiar name. A prime example being their spring cover shoot starring Lenka, shot by Joachim Johnson - a young photographer I profiled for ELLEcanada.com as a star on the rise a few months back... not only that but the shoot (shot in NYC) was also styled by one of my best friends. Small world!

Highlights from their spring issue include an overall 70s theme (be sure to check out the beauty 'ads'), an interview with Nate Lowman (Mary-Kate's ex), a Fellini-inspired fashion editorial starring Nico Torterella of Scream 4 and, of course, their cover star - Lenka!

Fashionista's Toronto Shopping Guide

Fashionista.com has posted their first-ever city shopping guide - first up, Toronto! The piece highlights the best shops for both men and women from high-end to vintage finds. Many of the city's most notable shopping destinations were included, but sadly some of my personal favourites were missed - I guess you can't include everything! I do feel it would have been nice if they had spread out their top picks a bit, aside from Holt Renfrew and The Room, the majority of the boutiques listed are situated on Queen West between Tecumseth and Ossington (a major shopping area of Toronto, I know, but still).

Jo Hill's Bazaar Style Diary

Joanna Hillman, Senior Market Editor of American Harper's Bazaar/former Teen Vogue Market Editor/TO native, has taken on the 30-day style challenge for the Harper's blog. I often admire Jo's glamorous lifestyle and incredible wardrobe from afar at Fashion Week and via facebook when not in the same city or country - written like a true Fashion Editor Stalker (yes, I have FES syndrome) - so, you can imagine how excited I was to discover Jo's latest blog commitment. OMFG I OWN CHANEL!

Tralalalalaaaaa! I was starting to come to terms with the fact that I may not own Chanel until the ripe old age of 50 - but thanks to Fashionably Yours in Toronto, I now own Chanel at 23 -hallelujah! While in TO over the holidays, I was walking along Queen West after dinner with a girlfriend and was stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the above shoes sitting pretty in their window. Luckily they were closed (as I have no money) so I eventually peeled myself away. A week or two later, when my brother got to town, we headed over to take a proper look around the shop. No-longer in the window, I thought they were goners - but non, they had been re-merched and were up on display behind the cash counter! "What size are they!?" I asked, "Your size!" the sales clerks said. The rest is history - now it's just me and MK rockin' these babies around town! Oh and yes, obviously I somehow came up with the money - it's called VISA baby (they accept!). Ps. Fashionaly Yours is now on sale! Ray & G - NYE

The fabulously talented, Brian Cleaver, was in town from NYC to celebrate NYE in style with is TO family. Lucky for us, we not only got to ring in the new year at his super fun hotel room party, but he also took some lovely pics of all of us. I was allowed to keep the top one, but could only take an iphone snap of that beautiful picture of Ray. More photos to come soon, but for now you can check out the rest of his work HERE.
